Certifications Are An Important Part of Medical Device Repairs and Accessories

When you rely on Sage Services Group for patient monitoring device repairs, cables, and accessories, you can rest assured we take our work seriously.

Each year, we invite an independent auditor to our two locations in South Carolina. The auditor reviews our repair shops, equipment, processes, and quality control.

It’s part of our commitment and dedication to providing our customers with the highest quality products and service.

This annual audit is part of the process to maintain two important certifications: ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.

ISO is the International Organization for Standardization, an independent, non-governmental international organization that brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary international standards largely in technology and manufacturing.

As part of the ISO 9001 certification process, an auditor reviews our quality management systems and provides feedback for ways we can improve. We first earned this certification in 2014.

We’ve also taken the extra step to earn the ISO 13485 certification, which is specific to medical devices and related services. We first earned this certification in 2018.

With dual certifications, our customers can feel confident in our products and services.

We employ auditors through NSF, an independent, global services organization that has been developing public health standards and providing world-class testing, inspection, and certification to the food, water, life sciences and consumer goods industries.

By bringing in a third-party, independent auditor, our customers know our certifications are legitimate and thorough.

Many hospitals and healthcare facilities require these certifications, and we want to make it easy for them to do business with us. They have peace of mind when they send devices to our team for repairs or when they purchase cables and accessories for their patient monitoring devices.

We have developed our own best practices, standards, and quality control measures. The independent auditor confirms we are adhering to those standards with each and every order.

The auditors are thorough. They ask for demonstrations and data to confirm that we are doing exactly what we say we’re doing.

While the certifications are a vital part of doing business in the medical industry, it also pushes our team to be better.

Most auditors aren’t trying to catch us doing something wrong. Instead, they want to help us be better. They are in and out of medical device companies every day. They are eager to share new ideas, fresh perspectives, and point out opportunities for improvement.

We see this annual audit as an opportunity to grow as a company. We use it to improve the overall business, enhance quality, and elevate our customer service.

These audits make our business better. They make our team better. And, our customers benefit.

Taking the extra step to earn ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications demonstrate our dedication to quality and patient care. We want our customers to purchase replacement cables and accessories as well as refurbished equipment with the peace of mind that these items are as good as what they would get from the OEM – but at a budget-friendly price point.

You deserve a choice in the marketplace. Make sure you’re choosing a supplier that is focused on quality, standards, and best practices. And, they should have the stamp of approval to back it up.
